Service Technician – Cambridge, Ontario

Position Summary

Urban Machinery Corp. is seeking a skilled Service Technician to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced industrial machinery and automation equipment. The ideal candidate has experience with electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems and is committed to delivering high-quality technical service in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of electronic and electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Determine and/or follow assembly methods and sequences for wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing.
  • Assemble and fit fixtures, machine components, and subassemblies.
  • Install, commission, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and automation equipment.
  • Modify, maintain, and repair electronic equipment and control systems to ensure reliable operation.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and replace defective components using hand tools and precision instruments.
  • Conduct testing, inspection, and analysis of machinery, tools, fixtures, and jigs to verify proper functionality and performance.
  • Provide technical support during equipment installation, maintenance, and service activities.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards, technical specifications, and quality requirements.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma, degree, or equivalent in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 24 months of experience as a Maintenance Technician or Service Technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience with machine installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
